I find myself laughing at all the skincare memes on social media. You know the ones where someone appears to be preparing for a major scientific experiment while holding a dozen bottles? It’s hilarious! When you can merely purchase a $200 cream and cross your fingers, why need a pricey doctor? Additionally, some memes depict someone frantically looking up “how to fix a pimple” just before a date. Like a bad magic trick, we are armed with a concealer that promises to disguise anything, even though we all know the answer is “don’t touch it.” Although the goal of skin care is to give us lovely skin, there are moments when it feels more like the humorous game show “Who Can Survive This Routine?”
